Penggunaan To Be dalam Kalimat Bahasa Inggris

To be" adalah kata kerja dasar (verb) dalam bahasa Inggris yang berfungsi sebagai kata kerja penghubung (linking verb) untuk menyatakan keadaan, identitas, atau keberadaan seseorang atau sesuatu. Bentuknya selalu berubah sesuai subjek dan waktu (tense), seperti am, is, are (present), was, were (past), serta be, being, been.

Fungsi to be

• Menghubungkan subjek dengan kata sifat (adjective) atau kata benda (noun) untuk menjelaskan keadaan atau identitas.
• Membentuk kalimat pasif.
• Membentuk continuous tense (kalimat yang menunjukkan aksi sedang berlangsung).
