1. Vocabulary: Penunjuk Arah Dasar

Sebelum memberi petunjuk, kamu harus tahu dulu kosakata dasarnya. Cek daftar di bawah ini:

·         Turn left: Belok kiri

·         Turn right: Belok kanan

·         Go straight: Jalan lurus

·         Go past: Melewati

·         Cross: Menyeberang

·         At the corner of: Di pojok/sudut

·         T-junction: Pertigaan

·         Crossroads: Perempatan

·         Traffic lights: Lampu lalu lintas

2. Prepositions of Place (Preposisi Tempat)

Kata depan ini digunakan untuk menjelaskan di mana posisi sebuah gedung berada:

·         Beside / Next to: Di samping

·         Between: Di antara (dua benda)

·         Behind: Di belakang

·         In front of: Di depan

·         Across from / Opposite: Di seberang

3. Asking for Directions (Menanyakan Arah)

Gunakan kalimat sopan saat ingin bertanya kepada orang lain:

·         "Excuse me, could you tell me the way to the hospital?"

·         "Excuse me, where is the nearest post office?"

·         "Can you show me how to get to the library?"

·         "Is there a bank near here?"

4. Giving Directions (Memberi Petunjuk)

Setelah ada yang bertanya, kamu bisa menjawab dengan langkah-langkah yang jelas.

Contoh Dialog:

Stranger: Excuse me, can you tell me the way to the Cinema?

You: Of course. Go straight along this street until you see the traffic lights. Then, turn left. The cinema is next to the bookstore.

Stranger: Thank you very much!

You: You're welcome.

5. Tips Menghafal

Supaya cepat ingat, coba bayangkan kamu sedang di sekolah:

1.      Kantin ada di sebelah mana kelasmu? (The canteen is beside the laboratory)

2.      Gerbang sekolah ada di mana? (The gate is in front of the parking lot)
